Australia-Pacific voices present to UN meeting
Two powerful women from Australia and the Marshall Islands were invited to present to the 2021 UN General Assembly High-level plenary meeting to commemorate and promote the International Day against Nuclear Tests.
Aunty Sue Coleman-Haseldine is a Kokatha elder from Ceduna, South Australia, and an ICAN Australia Ambassador. She presented to the third conference on the humanitarian impacts of nuclear weapons in Vienna, 2014, and to the UN negotiating conference for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in March 2017.
Danity Laukon is a Marshallese community advocate, language arts specialist and former President of the Marshall Islands Student Association.
