CAMPAIGN NEWS:

Monthly web-meets during COVID-19

Mar 19, 2020

The way we live, work and campaign is changing dramatically as we take the necessary steps to minimise the impact of COVID-19. While keeping safe and stopping the spread of the virus is everyone’s top priority, the threat of nuclear weapons unfortunately persists.

In the next couple of months, ICAN Australia will host only online events and will request meetings with public office holders to be made available via video link. Our parliamentary representatives and councillors remain accountable to the public on the issue of nuclear weapons, even during a pandemic.

There are many ways we can continue to organise and affect change, while staying safe and adapting to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Coronavirus won’t stop nuclear weapons and neither will it stop the campaign. Let us respond with an outbreak of creative resistance!

To bring the ICAN Australia community together we will host a monthly series of web-meets, starting on Monday 20th April. The first one will focus on local government activism with the Cities Appeal.
